5 AUGUST 2009: SOFT MAQUETTE

Well following my foray into the realms of soft sculpture I have started to experiment with new forms. This is one of my most succesful little maquettes. I'm planning to scale this up massively although I've not yet decided whether to stick with the canvas (pictured) with paint or whether to use coloured fabrics. A couple more maquettes are in the pipeline.
18 JULY 2009: DRAWING 1

I've had a few difficulties getting the studio of late. This might have been a blessing in disguise though as it has pushed me back into drawing as a result of the limited space and materials I have at home. This is a large (A1) drawing that I am in the middle of at the moment.
10 JUNE 2009: THIRD RELEASE

Following some studies on canvas to try and work out the colours and some issues relating to the materials I'm using, I've started work on the Third Release proper. I'm loving the gloopy foam base.
19 May 2009: THIRD RELEASE STUDY
(Lycra, Felt, Gloss and Oil on Canvas)

I've started work on my 'Third Release' sculpture. I have been trying to work out the colours for this piece over the last couple of weeks. As I'm adopting the approach that this 'Release' is the final 'blooming' piece I wanted to to reflect thos through the colours I use. unfortuantely the colours I had in mind were a little on the gharish side to use oil paints so I have been experimenting with some fabrics. I've a feeling the pink and purple pictured in this study thatI've started will be pretty much the colours I'll go with.
13 MAY 2009: SPORE
(Expanding Foam Sealant, Floristry Wire, Enamel Paint & Latex)

The production of my latex and wire 'Spores' continues. So far I have managed to make my way through 1500 stubs of floristry wire and 2 litres of latex. I'm currently negotiating with a local art space in order to try and arrange a space to install the piece. Hopefully it won't be too long before I have some pictures of the finshed piece in the gallery.
09 MAY 2009: UNTITLED PAINTING
(Enamel & Acrylic Paint, Paper Pulp & Ceramic Tiles)
.jpg)
Here's a little painting I'm working on at the moment. It's approximately one metre square and as per usual far from flat! I'm using to try and work out some of the aesthetic and technical issues relating to another 3D piece that I'm about to start work on.
